Panmela Castro, the prominent Brazilian street artist and social activist, has been expanding her presence in the Big Apple. She has just finished a new mural in the Bronx, named Freedom For All Women. It is her gift to the city in celebration of the International Women’s Day. Years ago, she painted her first mural, at the First Street Green Art Park (Lower East Side), during a major encounter against women’s trafficking (Below). Panmela also works on a smaller scale and has made new canvases (Below) for the collective exhibit that marks the Grand Reopening of Pop International Galleries in a new address @ Spring and Bowery Street. The reception is tomorrow, April 2nd. More info: http://www.popinternational.com/whats-on
