After the successful release of “Clarice Lispector – Complete Stories”, recognized among the best books of 2015 by the New York Times & the Boston Globe, it is time to connect with Brazil’s most acclaimed female writer in a different way. “Group.BR”, the only Brazilian theater company in New York, is presenting “Inside the Wild heart”, a new production based on her life and writings.
Because the idea is to immerse in Clarice’s universe, particularly the existential questions that she raises, instead of being spectators in a comfy seat, the viewers are invited to play an active role. Once they enter the gallery, they follow the actors of their choice and explore on their own the different rooms of what is meant to be Clarice’s house, a recurrent scenario in her stories. Many people say that we don’t just read Clarice, we experience it, so don’t miss this unique opportunity.
The performance is in both English & Portuguese and runs until November 20 – (Thursday- Sunday)
This Sunday only (Nov 13): Pre-Show talk with Katrina Dodson, translator of “Clarice Lispector, Complete Stories” (New Directions Publisher) https://www.artful.ly/groupdotbr/store/events/10637
